was lightspeed to get this one done, but i spent like a whole day listening to it again and again, getting myself used to this feeling (somewhere right below the solar plexus), a feeling that i used experience to very often.

anyway, this mix is a collection of some classic poptart favourites, and i thrown in a few other stuff i never got to play at poptart, and some newish ones i would be playing if there was a poptart party tomorrow.

in the pic above is natalie, one of the original popsluts, and she's wearing a poptart tee she made with crayons (i think) at one of our early events in 05. we love you nat.

hello!

poptart will be taking a break for a bit. so that means, starting from tonight, the wednesday nights will not be happening at The Butter Factory. We'll definitely be back, however we don't know how soon that's gonna be.

Thank you all for supporting us on wednesday nights, we had some excellent nights. however, i guess a weekend would be a lot more suitable for all of us. so keep your fingers crossed that we find a weekend solution soon.

meanwhile, SWITCH is on next saturday, with Zaidi, Dave Does and Myself in the main room. If you came for the last one, you'd probably know this party is friggin' dangerous!! flyer will be posted soon!

so we went a bit overboard with this nu-something something, and swapped the guitars for synths. just last week, zaidi and myself, decided to go back to back on the decks and played stuff that was forgotten during this whole electro/rave furore. it felt really good to be in touch with the roots of poptart again. from suede to the smiths, from stone roses to manics, the crowd we had, albeit small, were totally in sync with us. the feeling came back. maybe we strayed a bit recently. the old tunes, the ones that we used to sing along and mosh to, brought back fond memories as well as an all familiar feeling.

so for Poptart this week, we bring you 'Do You Remember Rock n Roll Radio?'- a night of 100% punk, indie, alternative, shoegaze and everything else that we have screamed out lungs to at the Poptart parties, brought to you by Zaidi and myself. Expect ye olde anthems from the smiths, pulp, blur, postal service, the libertines, the clash, the charlatans, magic numbers, death cab, suede, placebo, yeah yeah yeahs, stone roses, ramones, nirvana and everything that ever mattered to us during the best of times.

hello,

07 wasn't exactly the best of years, considering a momentary lapse (of reason?) prior to our return, and then there were a few hiccups along the way. still we made many new friends and had some pretty memorable moments at our nights at the butter factory.

needless to say, i'm hoping this year will see us back in full force with a proper weekend spot and bigger events, and cold beer of course. we're still in the midst of looking for a suitable venue to host our weekend nights, so stay tuned!
